Our Animal Philosophy

Here on the farm, caring for our animals is part of everyday life. We believe in treating them with the same kindness and respect we’d want for ourselves, never taking for granted the lives that help nourish your family and ours. As we tend to our animals and learn alongside them, we hope to pass that knowledge on to the next generation, teaching them to appreciate the care, hard work, and connection to the land behind the food on their plates.

What Our Customers Are Clucking About

  • "Our turkey was so delicious and turned out perfect. I just didn't think to take a picture. We have a lot of meat left over. So I froze the leftover."

    —Vicki L.

  • “Our family loves PS I Love Ewe Farm! We love that they are local and put so much care & love into their animals. The eggs their hens lay are the best around! With the most rich, golden yolks and a rainbow of shell colors, they are as lovely to look at as they are to eat. Thank you PS I Love Ewe Farm!”

    -Amanda E.

  • "The turkey was delicious and made turkey and dumpling soup the next day! Still have leftovers"

    —Kimberly H.

  • "The turkeys flavor blew me away. Turkey is not usually a very flavorful bird, but this turkey helped me realize how much better free range is. I found it was worth every penny."

    -Joan S.

What Makes Our Eggs Different?

We raise Heritage & Fancy Breed Chickens:

Heritage: A recognized chicken breed established before the 1950s. They’re slow-growing, with a robust immune system for foraging. These birds lay eggs for 5 to 7 years compared to commercial breeds that produce for one year.

Fancy: Honestly, these ladies are the primadonnas of the flock. They delight us with their pretty eggs. (When they choose to lay.) They’re high maintenance and vulnerable, but they’re fun.

At PS I Love Ewe Farm, our Ladies (hens) enjoy the simple life. They greet the sunrise each morning with a new adventure. They spend the day exploring the farm; finding tasty treats to eat, talking to their friends, and taking sand baths when they want. Such a Life!

Why Lamb?

“Salmon of the Land” Lamb was given this nickname, due to unusually high levels of Omega-3 fatty acid (similar to fish), not found in other land animals. Omega-3 Fatty Acids support eye development, brain function, heart health, and reduced inflammation throughout the human body.

Taste: Most say that lamb has a delicate, mild taste with a hint of sweet notes. It does have a lean fat profile, with some saying that the fatty acids give the lamb an earthy taste. Personally, we use ground lamb as a beef replacement. Our kids enjoy tacos, lamb burgers, & stews.

Ohio: An estimated 70% to 73% of all lamb eaten in Ohio comes from international imports. (Australia & New Zealand) Why not try something tasty with a smaller Carbon Footprint?

“Love is kneeling down in the cold elements for hours, just to make sure your Ewe and her lamb are okay.”
